EOC General Assembly

The European Olympic Committees General Assembly has officially opened in Rome under the  leadership of President – Pat Hickey, who is unopposed for reelection for the new term.  There are 18 candidates for 12 seats on the Executive Committee.

 

The turnout for the assembly is bigger than normal with 500 guests expected, with many influential IOC personalities in attendance to include IOC President – Thomas Bach, and his predecessor Jacques Rogge.  Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of ANOC, Marius Vizer,  President of Sport Accord and ASOIF and many more.

Pyeonchang Winter Games 2018
Youth Olympic Games presentations
Saturday morning the Baku organisers will give their first formal report of the European Games to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2015.  The launch of the Baku 2015 logo will take place later.  The emblem is a mythical bird with a colourful design representing Azerbaijan.
After the Saturday session approximately 300 delegates will visit the Vatican for a papal audience,  when IOC President Thomas Bach will present Pope Francis with the Olympic Order.
