Irish race walker Kate Veale has been chosen to carry the Irish Flag at the Opening Ceremony of the first ever World Olympic Youth Games in Singapore this evening. Irish Challenge at World Youth Olympic Games Starts on Sunday

Moscow hosts Youth Olympic trials

Athletics Ireland has announced an 11 member team to attend the European Continental Youth Olympic Trials to be held in Moscow from 21-23 May. This is a qualifying event for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore from 14 – 26 August. Qualification for the Summer Youth Olympic Games will be based on the athletes finishing position in the European trials.
