Team Ireland Updates

Paddy Barnes duly took his place in Irish Olympic history last night, securing the team’s fifth medal of the London Games.
Paddy is up against his Beijing opponent – China’s Zou Zhiming.   He is the the first boxer to get medals at different Olympic Games and will fight his want into the finals tomorrow (Friday) in the afternoon session at 13:30h
 
John Joe Nevin will also add an Olympic medal to his two World Championhship bronzes he will be in action against Cuba’s top seed Alvano Estrada also on the Friday in the afternoon session at 13:30h.
 
Michael Conlon is another boxer into the finals – He will now face Cuba’s Robeisy Carrazana Ramirez in the semi-finals on Friday evening session at 20:30h.
