Triathlon Ireland has announced the launch of a new coaching initiative starting in January 2013.
The aim of the programme is to deliver a progressive series of workshops that offer a high level of learning around all areas of performance endurance sport.
Delegates will be presented with the most up to date material, detailed training plans and how the world’s best athletes train.
Bringing together some of the very best practitioners in Irish sport the aim is to create a stimulating and challenging environment that will enable delegates to take away applied skills and gain a better understanding of how to improve day to day delivery as a coach.
The Series is being led by Triathlon Ireland’s High Performance Director Chris Jones with experts in a number of fields called upon for their input.
The workshops will have the following components, creating an interactive learning experience:
- A key presentation around the workshop subject matter.
- Sports specific break out groups, encouraging stimulating and challenging debate, in context of the key note presentation.
- Applied skill learning in small groups working with experts in their field.
- Take away reading recommendations and preparation work required for the next workshop.
Lectures will take place in Athlone.
